(Face Of Nigeria Blog News)-The Indonesian Navy submarine KRI Nanggala-402, missing near Bali, was found in the waters off the coast of the island.

This was announced on Saturday, April 24, by the Xinhua news agency with reference to the chief of staff of the Indonesian Navy.

As noted, the Indonesian search engines managed to find a submarine while scanning the bottom of the Bali Sea.

It was noticed at a depth of about 850 meters.

Earlier on April 24, the chief of staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono, said that the disappeared submarine had run out of oxygen necessary to support the life of the crew.

The submarine KRI Nanggala-402, with 53 sailors on board, was conducting torpedo exercises when it stopped communicating.

On April 21, traces of an oil spill were found near the island of Bali, where the submarine disappeared.

On April 23, an unidentified object with high magnetism was discovered near the place of the disappearance of the submarine.

Russia, the USA, Germany, France, India, Turkey and Australia offered their help in the search for the missing submarine.

Singapore and Malaysia have already dispatched rescue vessels to the site of the submarine’s disappearance.

Indonesian rescuers have discovered the KRI Nanggala 402 submarine, the crew of which has stopped communicating.

The agency reports with reference to the leadership of the navy that a bottom scan revealed a submarine at a depth of 850 m.

At the same time, its technical characteristics are designed for diving to a depth of 500 m.

There is little hope that the crew members will be found alive, writes Reuters : as the authorities said, the supply of oxygen on the submarine was supposed to run out on the night of April 24.

Assosiated Press, with reference to the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono, clarifies that the rescuers managed to find the wreckage of the submarine – parts of a torpedo tube and a cylinder with lubricant for the periscope.

Prayer rugs were also found, presumably belonging to the crew members.

According to Margono, taking into account the results of the search operation, the authorities are moving “from the phase when the submarine was considered missing, to the phase where it is considered to be sunk.”

The submarine conducted training torpedo launches in the waters off the island of Bali, but, as reported on April 21 in the country’s navy, did not report the results of the exercises at the agreed time.

Later, the Ministry of Defense said that not far from the place where the submarine was located, before the crew stopped communicating, they found an oil slick.

Three submarines, five aircraft and 21 warships were involved in the search, and the United States sent aircraft to the scene.
